Pickleball in Stow, Massachusetts

Stow pickleball is concentrated at Stow Community Park, where two shared tennis courts create six pickleball layouts. The town reservation calendar shows regular morning and evening groups throughout the week. Older adults also have clinics through the Council on Aging. Players bringing a foursome can reserve court time, but solo visitors should not assume every listed group is public drop in play.

Stow Community Park

Stow Community Park is at 60 Old Bolton Road. Its two tennis and pickleball courts divide into six lined pickleball spaces. Nets are available at the courts. The park also includes a playground, pavilion, baseball diamonds, soccer and lacrosse fields, and two basketball courts.

The court areas are reservable through Stow Recreation. Reservations are limited to 90 minutes per day and can be made up to one month ahead. The calendar often fills with standing pickleball groups, clinics, and private reservations. A reserved block is the best option for a local foursome that wants dependable access.

Nearby alternatives

Stow has no separate public indoor pickleball facility. The Concord Recreation program uses the Hunt Recreation Center in winter and spring and Rideout Park in summer and fall. Adult lessons run for 75 minutes and provide a useful nearby option when Stow classes are not available.

Lessons and beginner play

The Stow Council on Aging offers seasonal beginner, beyond beginner, and experienced clinics. The current September 2026 calendar includes two experienced groups on Friday, September 11. The first meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The second meets from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Park courts.

Stow Recreation does not currently list a general adult beginner course in its registration catalog. New players outside the senior program can start with a reserved court and a small group or use the adult lesson program in Concord. Private instructors are listed in the Coaches section.

Group play and court schedule

The September calendar shows recurring pickleball blocks at Community Park. Monday morning play runs from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday morning groups use both court areas from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday evening groups use both areas from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening groups run from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

These entries show when regular local players are most active, but several are private reservations or Recreation coordinated groups. They are not all guaranteed drop in sessions. Players already connected to a listed group can use its reserved time. Other groups can use the online town reservation system for one of the two tennis and pickleball court areas.

Visiting Stow

Stow Community Park is the best local venue for a visitor arriving with partners. A 90 minute court reservation creates dependable space on the shared courts. Bring paddles and balls. Nets are supplied, so a group does not need a portable net.

A solo visitor has no clearly published town drop in program. The recurring calendar blocks are active local groups, not an open invitation to every player. Concord Recreation is the better nearby choice for structured instruction. Visitors who prefer open play can also use Ace Pickleball Club in Westborough as a guest of a member.
